Manufacturer wording: Valvoline PI sheet: "formulated to meet or exceed": ASTM D3306, ASTM D4985, Chrysler MS 7170, Cummins 90T8-4, Detroit Diesel 7SE298, Federal Specification A-A-870A, Ford ESE-M97B44-A, GM 1825M, GM 1899M, Navistar MPAPS B-1 Type I, SAE J1034, J1941, J814C, TMC of ATA RP-302B.
"Meets X per manufacturer" is our shorthand for any of the manufacturer's own phrases: meets, meets or exceeds, approved, or recommended for applications requiring. It is the manufacturer's claim, not an approval by Coolant.com or by the vehicle maker. Codes are copied as published. Some sources list codes for compatibility rather than formal approval. The wording above shows which.

Compatibility notes
- If your owner's manual calls for ESE-M97B44-A, Zerex lists that code for this product. Read the exact wording above, and confirm against your manual.
- Chemistry is listed as IAT. Mixing different chemistries can shorten coolant life. See OAT vs HOAT vs IAT and use the mixing checker before topping up.
- Colour is listed as Green. Colour is a dye, not a spec, so two coolants of the same colour can be different chemistries. See coolant colours explained.
- Sold as a concentrate: dilute with distilled or deionised water as the label directs. See premix vs concentrate and the freeze and boil calculator.
Note: Valvoline PI sheet hosted by a distributor. "Low silicate" conventional formula; IAT is INFERENCE from that description (Valvoline does not use the acronym).
